PINELLAS COUNTY, FL – This week, Pinellas County Tax Collector, Adam Ross, and members of his team presented local non-profit, Angels Against Abuse, with a $4,432.78 donation.

Angels Against Abuse provides assistance to Pinellas children and families in the foster care system. Their mission is to go beyond the scope of basic services covered by the system, including trauma reduction, creating traditional childhood experiences, and developing programs to help break the cycle of abuse. They were chosen as the annual charity for the tax collector’s office for 2025. Throughout the year, the tax collector team supported the organization with various internal and external fundraising efforts.

One such effort, “Thread of Hope” was created by the tax collector team in 2022. Employees can make a monetary donation to break dress code in a fun themed clothing day – with all proceeds going to the annual charity. Last year’s theme days included: Disney Day, Sports Day, Tropical Shirt Day, and more.

“Angels Against Abuse does wonders for both the children and families they serve,” Tax Collector Adam Ross said, “I am proud to lead a team that is so dedicated to supporting organizations doing great work in Pinellas. Their creativity and generosity all add up to this donation that we know Angels Against Abuse will put to good use.”

The tax collector offices also hosted a school supply drive and holiday gift drive for Angels Against Abuse, where employees and customers were invited to donate items that help children have traditional childhood experiences, like getting a new outfit for school or having presents to unwrap for the holidays. These donation drives alone benefited over 50 children.
