PINELLAS COUNTY, FL—This June, Pinellas County tax collector offices are promoting local non-profit Best Buddies in Florida and its mission to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Best Buddies Sticker and Mug

Customers who visit a Pinellas tax collector's office during the partnership and donate $10 or more to the cause will receive an exclusive Best Buddies mug and sticker as a thank-you gift. Donations go directly back to the Tampa Bay community, helping to support programs for individuals with IDDs. These programs include teaching essential life skills, how to form meaningful relationships and secure employment, and overall skills and relationship building to help enhance these citizens’ quality of life.

“Best Buddies has made great strides in our local community as well as internationally, and we are so proud to support their cause this month,” said Tax Collector Adam Ross. “Supporting our community is important to the tax collector team and this is just one of the many ways we fulfill our Values of Community and Service.”

Best Buddies is the world’s largest nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the social, physical, and economic isolation of the 200 million people with IDDs, including, but not limited to, people with Down syndrome, autism, Fragile X, Williams syndrome, and other undiagnosed disabilities. Their programs help people and families living with IDD form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure successful jobs, live independently, improve public speaking, self-advocacy, and communication skills, and feel valued by society.

Best Buddies is the third of six Florida non-profits that the tax collector’s office will support in 2025. Follow their organization on social media—@PinellasTC—for updates on their community initiatives and other important organizational information.
