PINELLAS COUNTY, FL – This August, Pinellas tax collector offices are teaming up with the Florida State Parks Foundation to raise funds and spread awareness about the preservation and growth of local and state parks.

For over 30 years, the Florida State Parks Foundation has worked to preserve the state’s natural beauty and resources for future generations through education, protection, and more. Throughout August, tax collector employees will encourage customers to renew or purchase the “Explore Our State Parks” specialty license plate. The plate depicts a quintessential Florida scene of a kayak drifting down a spring. A portion of the proceeds collected from the sale of this plate will benefit the Foundation’s efforts to protect, preserve, sustain, and grow Florida’s award-winning state park system.
Tax Collector employees will also ask customers if they would like to donate directly to the foundation via QR codes displayed in the tax collector’s office. Customers who donate $5 or more will receive a special thank-you gift, an exclusive sticker to show off their support for Florida state parks.
“Our vast network of state parks is just one of many beautiful attractions our state offers, drawing people from all over the world,” Tax Collector Adam Ross said. “We are very excited about helping this wonderful cause and doing our part to keep Florida a top destination for residents and tourists alike.”
The Florida State Parks Foundation is the fifth of six Florida non-profits that the tax collector’s office will support in 2025.
