PINELLAS COUNTY, FL—This March, Pinellas County tax collector offices are teaming up with Indian Rocks Beach Trash Tribe, a local non-profit conservation organization, to support the preservation of Pinellas ecosystems and marine life.

The tax collector team is accepting donations for the organization throughout the month. Customers who donate $10 or more will receive an IRB Trash Tribe “Florida Strong” koozie and various stickers as a thank-you gift. Donations go towards the organization’s main goal of coastal cleanups and marine conservation. Additionally, the tax collector team will also wear IRB Trash Tribe t-shirts every Wednesday in March to promote the cause.

The IRB Trash Tribe’s mission is to protect marine ecosystems and the life that inhabits them. This is accomplished through organizing beach cleanups, clearing our waterways of abandoned fishing gear, conservation and preservation initiatives, beach enhancements, and public education and outreach. Their work has been necessary in restoring beaches across Pinellas after Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

“We are proud to partner with IRB Trash Tribe and do our part in restoring our beloved beaches after the devastating 2024 hurricane season” Adam Ross said. “Keeping our coastline beautiful is important because it’s one of our most popular attractions and draws millions of visitors to our county each year.”

after Indian Rocks Beach Clean-Up

Eager to help, members of the tax collector team volunteered at the Trash Tribe’s Mardi Gras beach cleanup this past Saturday, March 1, at Groupers on the Gulf on Indian Rocks Beach. It was a great way to kick off the month-long campaign and serve the community too.

Along with coastal cleanups, IRB Trash Tribe also protects marine life and endangered species. They help keep beaches clean, dark, and flat for sea turtle nesting season and even provide marine animal rescue and recovery when needed. For more information, visit irbtrashtribe.org.

Each year the tax collector’s offices support six Florida non-profits, chosen from submitted applications based on the organization’s mission and local impact. The IRB Trash Tribe is the second non-profit they are supporting for 2025. Follow Tax Collector updates about this and other campaigns on Facebook, X, and Instagram - @PinellasTC.
