PINELLAS COUNTY, FL – The Pinellas County Tax Collector’s Office will host the 2026 Kids Tag Art Pinellas Awards Ceremony this Thursday, February 19, at 6 PM at Largo High School, celebrating the creativity and talent of local fifth-grade students and teachers.
The ceremony will honor exceptional student and teacher artwork from 52 elementary schools across Pinellas County. Over 2,500 designs were submitted this year, and a panel of retired art teachers selected the Award of Excellence winners. Program sponsors also chose Sponsor Choice Award winners, and the Tax Collector will present the Tax Collector Choice Award, the program’s top honor.
“Kids Tag Art celebrates and encourages creativity among Pinellas County’s young art students,” said Pinellas County Tax Collector Adam Ross. “Each student has a dedicated teacher supporting them, and we are continually impressed by the artwork produced in classrooms throughout our county.”
The annual event brings together students, families, teachers, community leaders, and program sponsors to emphasize the value of arts education and community support for local schools.
About Kids Tag Art Pinellas
Kids Tag Art Pinellas is a partnership between the Pinellas County Tax Collector’s Office, Pinellas County Schools, and community sponsors. The program invites fifth-grade students to create original, front-facing collectible license plate artwork during art class. These designs are sold at kidstagartpinellas.org, with all proceeds going back to the participating elementary school art classrooms to support supplies and programs.
Since its inception, Kids Tag Art Pinellas has raised over $450,000 for local elementary art classrooms and programs. These funds are used to purchase markers, paper, paints, and other vital art supplies, enriching the art education experience for students across the county. Winning designs each year are displayed at tax collector offices throughout Pinellas County.
“Each student is a citizen of our community, and creativity is essential to their future success,” Ross added. “This program allows us to invest in art education while showcasing the imagination of Pinellas County’s students.”
