PINELLAS COUNTY, FL – When it comes to dollars and cents, you can count on the Pinellas County Tax Collector’s Office for accuracy, down to the penny. That’s one of the reasons why Tax Collector, Charles W. Thomas, and his finance team earned their 12th consecutive Legacy Award for Financial Operations, one of the most significant honors bestowed by the Florida Tax Collectors Association (FTCA).

The Pinellas County Tax Collector’s Finance team was selected by a five-person judging panel made up of Florida government financial executives. The criteria for the Legacy Award include a perfect annual audit report as well as evidence of technological innovations, customer focus, and keen budgeting.

“We are truly honored to be presented with the Legacy Award for the twelfth year in a row,” said Pinellas County Tax Collector, Charles W. Thomas. “It is the perfect testament to the dedication and hard work of our Budget & Finance team. Their commitment to financial accuracy and excellence is something to be celebrated and they are extremely deserving of this honor and recognition.”
