PINELLAS COUNTY, FL – Pinellas County Tax Collector Charles W. Thomas and his finance team recently received their 11th consecutive Legacy Award from the Florida Tax Collector’s Association. The Legacy Award is one of the most prestigious honors awarded to Florida tax collectors and their organizations.

Each year, a five-person panel (made up of Florida governmental financial executives) reviews the processes of Florida tax collector offices. The recipient of the Legacy Award meets the criteria of a clean, error-free annual audit report combined with an organizational focus on innovative technology, customer service, and keen budgeting skills.

“What an honor it is for our organization to win the Legacy Award for the 11th year in a row,” said Pinellas County Tax Collector, Charles W. Thomas. “Our Budget and Finance team’s hard work and commitment to accuracy is what continues to earn us this award each year. I am very proud of their dedication to financial expertise and excellence. They are absolutely deserving of this recognition.”

In addition to 11 consecutive years of recognition for financial accuracy, the Pinellas County Tax Collector’s office has also won multiple Governor’s Sterling Awards.
