Pinellas County Tax Collector Office Fetches Donations for Suncoast Animal League

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL – Pinellas County tax collector offices delivered much-needed supplies to local animal rescue, Suncoast Animal League (SAL), on Friday, July 11^th.

For three weeks in June, both tax collector team members and customers were invited to donate in-demand items like dog food, water, and cat litter. Donation bins at every office were filled to the brim, some even overflowing, with generous donations from the Pinellas community.

“It’s our pleasure to support an organization that has done so much for our furry community and its citizens,” said Tax Collector, Charles W. Thomas. “Suncoast Animal League is well known throughout Pinellas and its mission is important to many of us. Some of our team members have even adopted pets from Suncoast. I’m proud to see how passionate both my team and the community are about animal welfare in our county – and it’s an honor to be a part of it.”

Suncoast Animal League is the Pinellas County Tax Collector’s employee-selected charity for 2024. Each year, tax collector team members vote on what charitable cause and local non-profit organization to support during the year through various fundraising efforts. In addition to the ongoing Thread of Hope fundraising initiative – which invites employees to periodically break dress code if they donate to the cause – each branch office location hosted a supply drive for Suncoast Animal League last month.

Suncoast Animal League is a non-profit, no-kill, no-time-limit animal welfare agency that has been active in Pinellas since 2006. Since their opening, more than 20,000 cats and dogs have been rescued and placed in their furever homes.
