Pinellas Tax Collector Donates Holiday Gifts to Local Families

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL –The Pinellas County Tax Collector’s office got into the spirit of giving this holiday season with a toy drive for local non-profit, Angels Against Abuse.

Angels Against Abuse provides care and support for children and families in the foster care system. For years, they have set out to make magic and spread holiday joy to these families with their Christmas Giving program.

For 2025, tax collector employees nominated and voted for Angels Against Abuse as their annual charity. The tax collector team raised funds through internal initiatives, such as bake sales and the Thread of Hope program, where employees can break dress code and participate in a themed day for a donation. Choosing Angels Against Abuse also gave the team the perfect opportunity to go from tax collectors to toy collectors this year.

“'Tis the season for giving!” Pinellas County Tax Collector Adam Ross said. “Charitable giving and supporting our community are big aspects of the work we do here at the tax collector’s office. My team and I are so excited to help Angels Against Abuse create beautiful holiday memories for the children they serve.”

Throughout November, the tax collector's offices gathered some of this year’s most popular gifts to donate. From Pokémon cards to Lego sets, coloring books, and crafts, they turned the Largo Angel Center into Santa’s workshop. 30 families will then be able to “shop” the donations, carefully picking just the right gifts for the kids to open and have a traditional holiday experience.
